The flash composite purchasing managers index (PMI) rose to a level of 54.40 in the Euro-zone, in November, compared to a reading of 53.90 in the prior month. Market expectation was for composite PMI to advance to 54.00.
Euro-zone services PMI registered an unexpected rise in November
The flash services PMI rose unexpectedly to a level of 54.60 in the Euro-zone, in November, compared to a level of 54.10 in the previous month. Markets were anticipating services PMI to remain unchanged.
Euro-zone manufacturing PMI unexpectedly climbed in November
The preliminary manufacturing PMI recorded an unexpected rise to 52.80 in the Euro-zone, in November, higher than market expectations of a steady reading. In the prior month, the manufacturing PMI had registered a level of 52.30.
German services PMI registered an unexpected rise in November
Compared to a reading of 54.50 in the prior month the flash services PMI climbed unexpectedly to a level of 55.60 in Germany, in November. Markets were expecting services PMI to fall to 54.40.
German manufacturing PMI rose surprisingly in November
The flash manufacturing PMI climbed unexpectedly to 52.60 in November, in Germany, compared to a reading of 52.10 in the prior month. Market expectation was for manufacturing PMI to fall to 52.00.
French manufacturing PMI climbed in November
In France, the flash manufacturing PMI registered a rise to 50.80 in November, compared to a reading of 50.60 in the prior month. Markets were anticipating manufacturing PMI to advance to a level of 50.80.
French services PMI declined in November
In France, the flash services PMI fell to a level of 51.30 in November, lower than market expectations of a drop to a level of 52.50. In the prior month, services PMI had recorded a level of 52.70.
Swiss M3 money supply recorded a rise in October
M3 money supply in Switzerland advanced 1.40% on an annual basis, in October. In the prior month, M3 money supply had recorded a revised rise of 1.30%.
US Markit manufacturing PMI registered a decline in November
The flash Markit manufacturing PMI recorded a drop to 52.60 in November, in the US, compared to market expectations of a fall to 54.00. In the previous month, the Markit manufacturing PMI had recorded a reading of 54.10.
US existing home sales registered a drop in October
In October, existing home sales registered a drop of 3.40%, on MoM basis, to a level of 5.36 million in the US, lower than market expectations of 5.40 million. Existing home sales had recorded a reading of 5.55 million in the previous month.
US Chicago Fed national activity index climbed in October
In the US, the Chicago Fed national activity index registered a rise to -0.04 in October, lower than market expectations of a rise to 0.08. In the previous month, the Chicago Fed national activity index had registered a revised level of -0.29.
Japanese manufacturing PMI climbed in November
The flash manufacturing PMI climbed to 52.80 in Japan, in November. In the previous month, manufacturing PMI had recorded a reading of 52.40.
