What does this mean for XRP? RLUSD uses the XRPL as a payment mechanism just like how Tether and other unregulated stable coins use Bitcoin as a payment mechanism. RLUSD is integrated across the XRPL and its integration uses XRP because only XRP can be used to pay transaction fees on the XRPL and everyone who transacts on the XRPL must have XRP to pay for those fees.
