Item 8.01    Other Events.
On March 7, 2024, Ellington Residential Mortgage REIT (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that its Board of Trustees declared a monthly dividend of $0.08 per share, payable on April 25, 2024 to common shareholders of record as of March 29, 2024. A copy of the press release is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 to this current report on Form 8-K and the information related to the dividend is incorporated herein by reference.

OLD GREENWICH, CONNECTICUT, March 7, 2024—Ellington Residential Mortgage REIT (NYSE: EARN) (the "Company") today announced that its Board of Trustees has declared a monthly common dividend of $0.08 per share, payable on April 25, 2024 to shareholders of record as of March 29, 2024.
