The former chief financial officer of Global Payments Inc., based in Atlanta, is now using his experience to support business owners.
Paul Todd, who left Global Payments ($GPN) in July of last year, has accepted a venture partner position at the nearby venture capital firm TTV Capital, where he will mentor the founders of the firm's portfolio companies and counsel other partners on investment choices.
Lizzie Guynn, Laney Lewis, and Neil Kapur are just a few of the new partners who have joined over the past few years. Todd is the most recent. The expansion comes as early-stage financial technology startup specialist TTV Capital closed its sixth and largest-ever fund at $250 million.

Despite Global Payments Inc. strong earnings and growth trajectory, Belpointe Asset Management sells 40% of the company's shares.

Belpointe Asset Management LLC recently divested almost 40% of its shares in Global Payments Inc., according to a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission. The firm sold 1,332 shares and currently holds 2,020 shares valued at $201,000. This news comes on the heels of Global Payments' impressive quarterly earnings report, which outperformed projections with $2.40 earnings per share (EPS) and $2.29 billion in revenue. Additionally, Global Payments had positive returns with a return on equity of 10.67%. Analysts predict that this move will not affect Global Payment’s strong performance and growth trajectory, especially now that more investors are looking to buy into the business services provider.

Global Payments (GPN) Lags Q3 Earnings Estimates

Global Payments (GPN) came out with quarterly earnings of $2.48 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.49 per share. This compares to earnings of $2.18 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items. Global Payments , which belongs to the Zacks Financial Transaction Services industry, posted revenues of $2.06 billion for the quarter ended September 2022, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.17%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $2 billion. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates two times over the last four quarters. Global Payments shares have lost about 7.3% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's decline of -18.2%.

While Global Payments has outperformed the market so far this year, the question that comes to investors' minds is: what's next for the stock?

Global Payments (GPN) Earnings Expected to Grow. The stock might move higher if the key numbers top expectations in the upcoming earnings report, which is expected to be released on October 31. On the other hand, if they miss, the stock may move lower.

Global Payments has a very large market capitalization of US$31.5b, so it could very likely raise cash to ameliorate its balance sheet, if the need arose. But we definitely want to keep our eyes open to indications that its debt is bringing too much risk.

Hello,

I'm currently conducting a study to determine activities and efforts required to create a payment switching network (I.e. Think Visa / Mastercard/ China Union Pay).

Use Case:
1. Customer purchases a product from a merchant using a debit card
2. A payment network is used to connect the merchant acquirer to the bank that issues the debit card

Does anyone have any insight into the effort, infrastructure and activities required to set up this payment network? Much appreciated.

Thanks!
